This workshop will introduce participants to topic modeling and demonstrate how to analyze and visualize topic model output in R. This hands-on workshop is based on Text Analysis with R for Students of Literature by Matt Jockers.
Topics may include:
- R packages for topic modeling
- text segmentation and preparation
- topic visualization
- topic coherence and topic probability
Recommended Background:
- Participants should have taken either Textual Analysis with R for Humanists or the 2-Day Introduction to Data Analysis with R offered by the Research Commons prior to attending this workshop.
- Participants will need to bring their own laptop preloaded with the latest version of R and RStudio.
