Via discussion and interactive exercises, this 2-hour hands-on workshop introduces selected GIS and mapping techniques commonly used by Humanities scholars.
Specifically, the workshop will cover:
- introduction to and examples of the use of GIS and spatial approaches in the digital humanities
- an overview of GIS methods, tools, and terminology; data collection
- sources of spatial data
- working with Google Earth Pro to create an interactive map of a poem
- understanding map mashups
