Cognitive scientist and artist DiPaola uses eye tracking and computer modelling to show how artists such as Rembrandt intuit how the science of vision and perception function. DiPaola will also discuss his own use of computer artificial intelligence to explore human creative thought via genetic algorithms.

Steve DiPaola is a computer based cognitive scientist, artist and researcher. His main research areas are cognitive, character and expression based arti cial intelligence, interaction and computer graphics. He serves as Director of the Cognitive Science Program at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and Associate Professor at the School of Interactive Arts and Technology.
